In Phase 2, we focused heavily on rhetoric and its devices. We had to choose 2 articles from different authors and in an essay, explore the rhetorical devices they employed. The bonus essay was to analyze the rhetoric we used in our Phase 1 assignment (WLLN). The bonus essay was fairly simple, being that I was the person who wrote it. However, I felt that I didn’t entirely grasp the concept of analyzing rhetoric. I kept focusing on the what rather than the why and how. Despite the confusion, I feel that this assignment allowed me to discover areas of my writing skills and critical thinking skills I need to improve on.
